Animal shelters constantly balance the needs of the animals in their care with limited resources. This campaign was designed to close that gap by giving the community a clear, tangible way to help.

The first campaign focused on a simple but critical need: kitty litter.

Rather than creating a generic “please donate” message, I developed targeted creative that clearly communicated what the shelter needed and made the action easy to understand. The community responded almost immediately and with remarkable generosity.

The success of that first campaign demonstrated something valuable: people are often willing to help when you make the need specific, the impact tangible, and the action simple.

Based on that response, the shelter expanded the campaign into additional social posts and printed posters requesting medical supplies and pet food.

What started as a single social media post became a repeatable communication approach for turning immediate needs into community engagement.

It’s a small project, but one that reinforced a principle I bring to marketing in every industry: don’t just tell people that you need their attention. Give them a meaningful reason to act.
