Handmade paper cover, handwritten type, handpainted backgrounds, handstitched binding. All imagery in the book was created on watercolor paper using Sumi ink & water (grayscale). I cropped the images sensitive to how the text would look over it. The text was written using a calligraphy pen with Sumi ink on vellum paper.

Last night, I dreamt of you
and when I woke I rose, that
single motion
stirring a need long dormant
in my nervous system:
That urge, a surge
of tangled tongue &
restless mind.
I visualized the crunch
of shifting weight, the hush
of someone resting
just behind.
My eyelids shuttered,
and I blinked, twice,
carefully collecting my
composure.
Last night, I dreamt of you
and when I woke
my breathing was
desperately repeating.
